STILTON RIDES INTO TROUBLE

By Ya-ya O'Cheddar

CACTUS CITY—The minute Geronimo Stilton walked into town, it was pretty obvious to all the locals that this mouse had a lot to learn about the Western way of life. Before long, local resirodents decided to take advantage of him!

When Geronimo went into the saloon and asked the bartender for a cup of Squeakytime Tea, all the other customers started laughing at him. And when he accidentally stepped on the toe of the biggest rodent in town, Mick Muscle Mouse, it looked like Geronimo wasn’t going to get out of the place alive. Somehow, he did.

But then he got into trouble with Wicked Whiskers, the vicious gunmouse who controls Cactus City. Whiskers gave Geronimo a challenge that may be the last one Geronimo ever faces.

That challenge is the reason why the four Stiltons are starting a three-day ride across the desert—on horseback—to Whiskers’ ranch. If Geronimo passes the test, he can free Cactus City from the clutches of an evil rodent. But if he fails…Well, it’s best not to think about that. The Rodent’s Gazette needs its editor just as much as Cactus City needs to get rid of Whiskers. So, let’s just hope that Whiskers’ challenge is a bet Geronimo can win. If not, there are sad days ahead for lots of rodents everywhere.
